Welcome to the official website of trumpeter Max Darche!
Maxilmilien Darche,
a protege of Jon Faddis, specializes in straight-ahead Jazz with an emphasis on BeBop styles. Darche performs regularly in
the New York area, including with Jazz big bands and with his own small group combos.
Currently a Masters'
degree candidate at the Conservatory of Music at Purchase College-SUNY, Max Darche is completing a comparative analysis of
Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis. Darche's mentors and musical colleagues include Ray Vega, Todd Coolman, and of course, Faddis.
Max Darche is also a skilled mentor to younger players and has taught at the Summer Jazz Institute at Purchase
College; Darche is one of two inaugural James Moody Scholars.
Recently, Darche has appeared in performance as
an invited guest at the Blue Note, the Louis Armstrong House & Archives, the Jazz Standard, Blues Alley in D.C., Scullers
in Boston, and the Lake George Jazz Festival, among others. Listen for Max Darche at clubs and festivals whenever you can;
Darche represents "Things to Come" in the best of the Jazz idiom.
